In this lab, students will learn diverse sterile techniques, media composition and preparation, in vitro propagation and regeneration, and the development and maintenance of callus and suspension cultures. Other topics will be covered, such as haploid generation, somatic embryogenesis, and artificial seeds, as well as creating mutants for salinity, disease, cold, drought, herbicide, and other stress situations. In addition, plant micropropagation, meristem culture and virus eradication, shoot tip culture, cryopreservation, and germplasm conservation will be conducted in the laboratory.
